US House supports brain trauma research

The U.S. House of Representatives voted Tuesday to increase funding for traumatic brain injury research. Such injuries affect as many as 1.5 million Americans every year and are common among soldiers serving in Iraq. They can lead to migraines and other chronic headaches.

House Expands Aid for Brain Injuries

The brain trauma bill, passed 392-1 by the House, closely mirrors legislation already approved by the Senate, and the Senate is expected to act soon to send it to President Bush for his signature.
