A recent segment of NPR's All Things Considered featured an interview with the authors of a book for laypeople that provides a guided tour of how the brain works.A Guided Tour of 'Your Brain'
Two neuroscientists decided to write the book because, as one author Sam Wang said, "there's a lot of folklore about how the brain works." They set out to debunk common myths about the brain, such as the often-stated assertion that we only use 10% of our brains.
The segment lasts about three and a half minutes, and the book is called Welcome to Your Brain: Why You Lose Your Car Keys but Never Forget How to Drive and Other Puzzles of Everyday Life
