According to a study in the Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine, a program for female migraine patients that combined aerobic exercise and relaxation techniques led to a significant reduction in their self-reported migraine intensity and an improvement in their depression-related symptoms.
Participating patients engaged in an indoor exercise program for six weeks. They did 45 minutes of aerobics and 15 minutes of progressive relaxation twice a week.
