Don't Miss Invisible Chronic Illness Week 2008

National Invisible Chronic Illness Awareness Week offers the information and support of a conference from the comfort of your own home.

The main focus of the week, held September 8 - 14, 2008, is a series of 20 telephone seminars on a variety of topics of great interest to people living with chronic and invisible illnesses and people who care about them.

Some of the scheduled topics are:

  • Healthy Boundaries with a Chronic Illness
  • Medications, Illness, Fertility and the Desire for Motherhood
  • Illness and Faith: Does Faith Make a Difference?
  • After the Diagnosis: The Journey Beyond
  • Overcoming Self-Defeating Behaviors
You'll probably recognize many names among the speakers who will participate. Chronic Babe's Jenni Prokopy, A Chronic Dose's Laurie Edwards and Chronic Illness Coach's Rosalind Joffe are all participating.

To register in advance for seminars (not required, but recommended) and learn more about the week's activities, please visit:

All of the seminars will be recorded and made available for download as mp3 files, so don't worry if you can't attend all the sessions live. You'll be able to listen to all of them whenever you have a chance or to listen to those you find particularly helpful over and over again and share them with friends and family.

You'll want to make some time to visit the Invisible Illness Week blog to read daily entries about living and coping with chronic and invisible illness from a variety of perspectives:
