Felix has been in our lives for six years now. We adopted him the day after we moved into our house. That's how much I was dying for a pet: I couldn't wait more than 24 hours to go out to our local humane shelter and look for the perfect fit for our family.
I love all cats, but Felix is special because he thinks he's a dog. It's just so obvious he must have been raised around dogs in his old home. He wags his tail like a dog. He loves having his belly rubbed. He almost always comes when I call him. And his favorite snack is beef jerky.
He's incredibly playful and fun. He goes on crazy sprints through the house and loves hiding and popping out to scare the dog.
Maisy joined our family a little over four years ago. She's a Jack Russell Terrier and has the quintessential Jack Russell personality. When she gets excited she jumps and jumps and jumps. You would never believe a dog that stands a foot and a half off the ground could jump that high. She's super strong!
She's always game for belly rubs and loves to pose herself so I'll look over at her and gush at how adorable she is.
Being a furmama to these two little monsters is the highlight of my life. They're my constant companions and get me out of bed every morning to make sure they have what they need to stay healthy and happy. Even though I still struggle to cope with the difficulties of living with chronic migraines and depression, they help enormously.
